Quieter rooms, built into the walls
Noise from a neighbor, a TV room, the street or a home office comes through the walls and ceiling. Foam panels on the surface don't stop it. Real soundproofing is built into the wall: the right insulation, sound-rated or extra layers of drywall, and resilient channel that keeps sound from traveling through the framing.
We soundproof bedrooms, home offices, media rooms, nurseries, ADUs and condos with shared walls, either during a remodel while the walls are open or by adding to the walls you already have. We'll look at where the noise is coming from and recommend what will actually help.
How we soundproof
Sound-rated drywall
Denser board made to cut noise through walls and ceilings.
Double layers
A second layer of drywall adds mass where noise comes through.
Resilient channel
Drywall hung on channel so sound doesn't travel through the studs.
Insulation in the wall
Sound-absorbing insulation fills the cavity before the board goes up.
Sealed gaps
Edges and outlets sealed, since small gaps let a lot of sound through.
Finished to match
Taped, textured and ready for paint, so it looks like any other wall.

Soundproofing questions
Can you soundproof a wall without tearing it out?
Often, yes. Adding a second layer of drywall, or new drywall on resilient channel, can make a noticeable difference. We'll look at the wall and tell you what makes sense.
Will soundproofing make a room completely silent?
No wall stops every sound, but the right assembly cuts voices, TV and everyday noise a lot. We'll explain what to expect before you decide.
Do you soundproof ceilings?
Yes. We soundproof walls and ceilings with drywall and insulation. For noise from the floor above, the ceiling is usually where we start.
